Pivot Table with Multiple Tables

Using Access 07 and trying to understand Pivort Tables. Have three tables
related with a common data field. As I was trying to establish a Pivot Table
View, at one point a field list came up that showed the primary table fields
and referenced fields available in the related tables. That went away and
now I can only get the field list from the primary table. Will a Pivot Table
have access to fields across related tables and if so, how do you get that
field list to display?
