Pivot Tables causing file issues

I routinely apply a pivot table to large amounts of data (5000+ rows).
The table properly summarizes the data and looks great, but after I
save the file and then close it I find that when I go to open it again
excel can no longer open the file. I get a simple message that states
unable to read file. Is anyone else experiencing the same problem. I
am running a PowerMac G4 and Excel 2004.

I haven't seen any problems like that, and I routinely have clients with
10,000 row PTs. You may have a corrupt workbook.

Try copying all of the data (CMD-a, CMD-c, not copying the worksheet(s)
directly) to a new workbook, then recreate your PT. Any change?
