Pivot tables downgrade 2007->2003

Welcome.

I've created a few pivot tables in my report in Ex2007.
The problem is that there is a group of ppl who have Ex2003 and these pivot
tables looses their functionality (expanding) when opened in this version of
Excel. Of course files are saved as *.xls format but it doesn't change
anything.

The one way to solve this problem is to create once again these pvt tables
in Ex2003 using source table,
but i think its just time wasting process. Besides there are pvt tables
without source, so i would have to generate them again.

I'll appreciate any hint helping me to get round this problem.

This issue is a real PITA - I had a bit of a rant about it recently at
http://excelicious.wordpress.com/2009/04/29/pivot-table-compatibility-issues/.
Basically the only way to get around it is to save the file in the
97/2003 format, then close it and re-open it before creating the pivot
table. Opening a file in the earlier format puts Excel 2007 in
Compatibility mode, which means that the pivot table created will be
version 10, i.e. your Excel 2003 users will have full functionality
when opening the file.

Thank U .

In the meantime, i was looking on the net for some solutions and didn't find
anything.

I decided to change the code a little and replaced the value of parameter
"version" in the ".PivotCaches.Create" syntax.
It solved the problem but forced me to generate reports once again. pity ;)
