Pivot tables in access 2003

I seam to be having a problem with pivot tables I create my query and save it
then run it everything ok but when it comes to placing the fields in the
pivot table i get a message that the query could not be processed, if i drop
any field into the detail area the data is displayed ok. any help would be
appreciated.
