Pivot Tables Lose Formatting

Why can't I format my PT and have it keep the formatting?

I found a similar post out there asking the same question, but I haven't seen a reasonable answer.

That post says you can't format the headings or totals in the PT because if you refresh it will lose formatting.

Is there a better answer?

My second issue is that the 2008 Excel version for Windows comes with pivot table templates. This is a nice and easy way to format pivots.

Well, the answer to both questions is "Because that's the way they made it."
We will have to leave it to you to decide whether or not you regard that
answer as "reasonable" :)

Office 2008 was a bit of a rush job: there are lots of bits missing: that's
one of them.

Office 2010 will fix a lot of this.

Cheers

According to the latest word from MS, "Holiday 2010". Best guess as to what
that means is late 4th qtr. Nobody ‹ including MacBU ‹ knows anything more,
& even if they have a "target date" it will not be made public.
