Hello,

I am working on data which I would like to move into multiple pivot tables. Is there any way to have the data in certain fields analyzed in the pivot table based on a certain set of statements? for instance, if I am assessing order totals, and would like to know the monthly order totals and shipping totals, but those dates are organized by DAY, can excel produce totals by month?

Or, in the sheet of raw data, could a new column just be created that translates the date format in the other column from mm/dd/yy to Month Year (01/01/09 = January 2009), in such a way that the pivot table will later recognize every field that says 'January 2009' as the same, and create a sum total thereof?

thanks so much for any help,

Monique

Sure - just group the data: CTRL- or right-click the date column in the
PT and choose Group. Select 'Month' from the dropdown.
