Hi
I have quite large pivot table files in Excel 2003. When i copy a new source
piece of data into one of the tabs, and then refresh the pivot tables, i lose
all my formatting of the pivot tables (I.e Font Colours, borders etc)
Is there a way i can get the formatting bo be left alone.
Any suggestions.

Someone said write a macro, but i am wondering if there is a tick box i can
use to say leave the formatting alone.
Many Thanks
Matt

Hi,

That depends on what formatting is being lost. Make sure Preserve
formatting is on by choosing PivotTable, Table Options. About 8 types of
formatting are lost between refreshes. One solution is writing a VBA macro,
in some cases you can replace regular formatting with conditional formatting,
and finally you might consider 2007 which is a little better in that area.
If you need specifics let us know.
