PivotCache.CommandText - string length limitation in Excel 2000???

In Excel 2000, if the string length of pivotcache.commandtext is greater than 255 then "VBA error: 1004, Application-defined or object-defined error". In Excel 2002 this error doesn't occur. Can you confirm this is a limitation on Excel 2000
