PivotTable - Multiple Consolidation Ranges

Alan

I have a six column data range, with column names, and around 500 row entries
that records sales data for accounts. This data is produced weekly, always in
the same format with identical column names, and I want to consolidate each
weeks data in a PivotTable by consolidating the multiple weekly ranges. I
want the row to be the account number and each column to be the week number
in the year; the intersection of each row and column should show the sum of
the sales value for that account for that week. This works fine from a single
set of data but when I choose the Multiple Consolidation Ranges option in the
Wizard I can select and add the data ranges I want from each weekly worksheet
but when I choose the Layout option in Step 3 of the wizard the Layout window
shows "Row", "Column", "Value" instead of my named column and row fields that
were selected as part of the data ranges for consolidation. I can't seem to
put together the PivotTable in the layout I want without seeing my actual
field names - why are my field names not visible and what can I do to solve
this problem?
TIA

Hi,

You can overtype the 'Row' and 'Column' headers in the Layout part of the
wizard (double click & overtype).

I guess the wizard is not smart enough to realise that even if you have the
same headers in your multiple ranges that is what you want to see.

Regards,

Chris.
