Placeholder field code - mac vs. pc

Wendy

The mac version of word contains a field code called
Placeholder, but as far as I can see this does not exist
in the windows version (checked 97 through to XP). Does
anyone know the windows equivalent?

The Placeholder field seems to be quite handy, allowing
you to put default text within a field code and when you
click on the it within the doc, the placeholder text
automatically vanishes. The nearest thing I can think of
is to use a text form field or possibly a fill-in field
(both of which also exist on the mac version) but these
are not quite the same.

This is probably not the best of descriptions, but if
anyone has come across this and has any ideas it would be
much appreciated. Thanks.

Hi Wendy,

Possibly a MacroButton field that doesn't actually connect
to a macro?

{ Macrobutton NoMacro And this is the default text }
