Placement of Excel windows on my computer display

I use a 4 display setup. Two screens are in line with the other 2 used to display above the 2 inline ones. At the current time I am unable to control where my window is placed. The window first opens on my startup screen. All I am allowed to do is to move horizontal. Starup screen is 23", horizontal screen is 30". When I move the window completely to the 30" screen I can then maximize it. That places the Window in the upper left corner of the 30" screen. I can then resize it. But if I try to move the window it goes back down to be aligned with the 23" screen.

This makes Excel 12 totally unusable as my tax prep program I wrote may need to have 5, 10 or even more windows opened at a time. What can I do other than keep using Excel 11?

I¹m not sure. This is a recognized problem (although with 2 monitors, I
haven¹t heard about it with 4 before, but it seems like the same problem) If
you can¹t use it this way I guess you¹ll have to go back to Excel 2004.
There is no telling when (or even if) this will get fixed.

Aounds like something that MS would do to kill the Mac version of Excel a little more.

That's laughable.

Never ascribe to malice that which can be adequately explained by
incompetence (or, being appropriately charitable, a mistake).

Frankly, I can see why perhaps a four 23"-30" monitor system may not
have made the test suite...

Of course, silly conspiracy theories are decidedly more fun...

I use two monitors and I have the same problem. I can not move the excel file higher than the excel window on my primary monitor, but I can move it down and horizontlly

same problem here, with 2nd monitor beside my main MBP screen.

other Office 2008 apps work just fine with the 2nd monitor, as did every previous version of Excel. very annoying especially since the 2nd monitor is mainly for use with Excel (and therefore useless at the moment)

have the same problem but can add to it that when copying between two windows they move around & never stay full screen.

It is really iritating to have to keep maximising windows with 3 clicks just to get a window back to how you left it seconds ago.

this problem was there for me in xl2004 also

I also have the same problem with window placement. I have already reverted back since I need approx 12-20 spreadsheets open to do my job on any given day. Frustrating indeed
