Placement of "find" function results.

in EXCEL 2002 during the first use of "find" one is asked what to
do with the results of the find. Either to copy to another location in the
worksheet, or list at the bottom of the find window. How does one get back
to that query screen to change the result action after the initial pass?

No, this option was offered in a dialog box the first time I used find in
Excel. Subsequent uses of find do not repeat that dialog box. The initial
answer must be stored in a control file, but I am looking for a way to change
the option.

Are you sure you're using something built into excel?

xl2002+'s find dialog has an option button, but that doesn't allow copy|pasting
of results.

And if you do a Find All, you'll see the list at the bottom of that dialog.

It sure sounds like you're running something that's part of excel.

As I said in the original post, the dialog box offering the desired placement
of the results was only offered once, on the initial (very first) call to
"find" in Excel, and prior to the usual find dialog box which I get now if I
use find. I can not locate any reference to that dialog box or how to get
back to it. I assume it is built into Excel since I was in Excel when I saw
it.

When you say it only appears once, does that mean that it only showed up a
single time in all the days you've owned excel--or that it only shows up the
first time you do it in a single workbook -- or the first time you do it in any
workbook -- or just the first time you use it in that excel session.

If it only happened once, then I'd guess you're remembering incorrectly. If it
happens on other occasions, I'd bet you had a helpful macro.
