We have a computer at work with a printing problem - plain text
(emails, notepad, etc.) take an extremely long time to pull up a print
dialog box (I'm not exactly sure how long - I usually leave it,
talking minutes here, many minutes.) For email items, if you switch
them to HTML, they print fine. After waiting for ages, when the print
dialog box finally appears for plain text, the job prints with no
further delay/problem.
The computer in question is Windows XP, Outlook 2003 ... it's set up
to do automatic updates and recently upgraded to IE7 (7.0.5730.11) ...
the printing problem *may* have coincided with the IE7 update, but the
computer's user isn't quite sure.
I found the following online and I tried registering these dll's, with
two errors - not sure if they're relevant or not ...
regsvr32 urlmon.dll
regsvr32 Shdocvw.dll
regsvr32 Msjava.dll
regsvr32 Actxprxy.dll
regsvr32 Oleaut32.dll
regsvr32 Mshtml.dll
regsvr32 Browseui.dll
regsvr32 Shell32.dll
regsvr32 Ole32.dll
The two errors involved Msjava.dll (not found) and Mshtml.dll (was
found but "server entry point" wasn't found so ithe dll wasn't
loaded).
Before trying the above, I uninstalled/reinstalled printer - no
change.
Any ideas as to what's going on?
Also, other user profiles can print plain text to the same printer w/o
probelm.
Thanks for any advice or input.
