Plan B for passed deadline?

Can I create a "plan B" in the same project when a deadline is not kept? Is
there a function to, in the same Gantt-chart, create an alternative plan when
a deadline can not be kept/reached? Or I just have to create a sidetrack from
the original tasks and assign deadlines for that when the original deadline
fails? Thanks for any useful tip )

There is no option in Project to do this. It could be done with a VBA
macro, but the time it would take to create it, even if you already
know VBA, would probably be longer than the time it would take to
modify the schedule.

You might try "Rolling Wave" planning. You plan the project up to where
a major decision is made or a significant event occurs, such as your
missed deadline. Beyond that, there is no schedule, or possibly just a
very high level plan. Once you reach that milestone/deadline and the
result is known, you plan from there. If are confident that you know
what the possible plans are going to be before you get to the
milestone/event, you can prepare both schedules in advance to save some
time, then just implement the correct one.

Hope this helps in your world.
