Plan owner and task owner - how can they be different?

I am using MSP server 2003 with PWA. I made a change to a project plan on
behalf of someone else and republished the plan. This seemed to make me the
plan owner, so someone else had to republish in order to get control back.

But I am still getting notifications of task updates from resources. When I
look in PWA under one plan, some tasks have me down as project manager and
some are down for the other person.

How can I change it back so they all belong to the other person?

Many thanks!

Hi reb-clo,

Within Project Server you have the concept of an Project Owner ( someone who
owns the project) and the project Managers. Theoretically you can have
mutliple Project Managers on a Project Schedule, but still only have one
project owner.

The reason why you are made the project Manager for some tasks is because
you have created the tasks and republisehd the project. The reason for this
is when a resource updates the tasks in PWA the project manager ( not the
owner) will receive the task update and will need to approve/reject it.

Hope this makes sense
