Planning Wizard does not appear

I am using Project 2003. When I save a file, I expect
that the planning wizard will prompt me to save for a
baseline. It does not. The Planning Wizard IS turned on
under Tools, Option, General and the Office Assistant is
also turned on. What am I missing?

Thanks in advance,

Cindi

Hi Cindi

not sure, but you can save a baseline under tools / tracking / save baseline

I realize that, but I don't understand why it is not
prompting me at the Save dialogue box. I have not
previoulsy saved it with a baseline, so I don't know what
the issue is.

Once you click the "don't show me this again" checkbox on the screen
prompting you to save a baseline during file save it goes away for good.
Can't recall off hand how to turn it back on but I usually recommend one of
the first things people do with a fresh installation is to turn it off
anyway since it tends to make people think saving a baseline does something
special and irreversible to the file.

Thanks, Steve. In Project 98 it could be turned back on
by going into Tools and Options, but I can't seem to
figure out how to turn it back on again. Unfortunatley,
I am teaching the class and wanted my screen to look just
like the book says it will look. Let me know if you
think of anything. (e-mail address removed).

Thanks!

Hi Cindi,
Beginning with the Project 2002 release the Planning Wizard no longer
prompts you to save a baseline when you save the file. I don't believe there
is any option of forcing that prompt to show up..
As JulieD noted, a user must go to the Tool --> Tracking --> Save Baseline
command when they want to save the baseline.
Hope this helps.
