Play Song When Word Document Is Openned

If I'm in the wrong forum, please redirect me.

I've downloaded an image from Google Images, written some verse, and now I
want to attach/embed. whathaveyou a sound file containing a song I guess
I'll have to download from Rhapsody (I believe that's a legitimate source I
can trust?). Can someone point me in the direction to get written
instructions please? I've google but can't seem to find what I'm looking
for. I've done this for PowerPoint presentations before I retired years ago
but the party to who I want to send this doesn't have PowerPoint. I know
there's a format that can be used to let someone play a PP file with all the
bells and whistles but I've forgotten that. I thought perhaps Word might
have something simple.

There is no simple method of playing a sound file when you open a Word
document. You could add a macro to play it when the document was opened, but
then you would have the problem of getting users to run a macro contained in
a document. You can create background tracks for html file format, but it is
virtually impossible to do so in Word without an in depth knowledge of html.
You would be better served by a web creation tool such as FrontPage or its
even more complicated replacement.

I'm reading about the new multimedia machine I just bought. Apparently the
Vista Ultimate operating system/package it cam with has a program called
Windows (or is it Microsoft?) Movie Maker. I ran the video just before
retiring last night and it appears it's just what I need. Though the example
given involved a slide show with sound track, I see no reason on slide
couldn't be use. The only thing I don't know about it's use at this point is
whether or not a recipient of such a file can play it with standard software
found on the average non-geek's computer... specifically senior citizens. I
doubt if most have a machine comparable to that I just bought and am
learning to use.

Thank you for your input, Graham.
