Playing / editing custom animation

I may be hallucinating, but I seem to recall that editing custom animation was much easier in older (or pc) versions. Now, each time I change a custom animation, I have to wait it out in real-time to see how it looks. And it's impossible to see layered photos (for example). Using this example, I have to literally move each photo out of the way each time to test placement and how it looks as it fades in and then out and then the next fades in & fades out. Not to belabor the concern, When I click on a custom animation in the opened box, the animation may be highlighted in the slide, but I can not see it This is SO cumbersome. . . and if the delay time is 50 seconds for each photo, I am spending MINUTES just to see how something looks.

So, my 2 concerns for now are the animation showing up on the slide as I work in custom animation, and the real-time wait for timing the animation.

Am I missing something or is this the way it is now? Thanks!

Hi,

In PowerPoint 2004 you could turn off live preview, but in 2008 you can't.

If you would like to have the ability to turn live preview on and off
send feedback to Microsoft using Help > Send Feedback.

Thanks. I will send more feedback.

Any thoughts about the ability to temporarily shift a graphic to the
front while working on it? ;-)
