I have a couple of multi-page Visio documents on the Web. These open in IE
and in Firefox in a split window with the document displayed on the right and
page links on the left. In IE, when loaded from the Web, the LH column
displays three windows, a pull-down list with the page links, a "Pan and
Zoom" window and a search window.
The load time is huge. It takes forever to first load the document and
subsequent pages in the RH side of the split window.
When I use IE to load the doc from my file system, it loads quickly, but
does not display the three windows in the LH column, just links to the
various pages. I also get a warning message that pop up and Active-X windows
have been prevented. Loading from the Web, Mozilla Firefox is the same,
without the warning message.
With IE, when I open from my file system, performance is fine and comparable
to Firefox loading ffrom the Web. Document size does not seem to be an issue.
When I load form the Web using IE, load time is terrible for the first load.
Re-displaying is OK, but not as fast as Firefox and IE from file.
I want to inhibit the creation of the three windows in the LH window. They
not only appear to slow things down, but they hide and make cumbersome to
links to the pages of the document.
I'm not sure I'm in the correct place with this request. Guidance would be
very much appreciated.
Thanks
