Please fix the Luna Media Center 2K5 bug in Office 2K3

With the release of Media Center 2005, Microsoft released a new and great
visual style to Windows XP named Energy Blue (AKA “Royaleâ€). However, with
the release of this new theme, one thing didn’t go right… Office 2003
programs did not support this theme and resort to a bland, white appearance
that is not appealing at all…

SO WHY DOES THIS HAPPEN AND WHAT'S THE BASIC PROBLEM:?

The key to this problem lies in the fact that the Microsoft Office 2003
custom interface, such as the enhanced menus and toolbars, are tied
exclusively to the “Luna†Visual Style in XP. If you load any other theme in
Office 2003, it resorts to the basic colors that normal, non Office 2k3 style
programs use. Office 2003 will only create custom toolbars and menus if the
current visual style is NAMED “Lunaâ€. Don’t believe me? Try it for yourself:

-Change to a theme in XP to one other than Energy Blue/Royale so that visual
style is not in use

-Go to the C:\Windows\Resources\Themes\Royale and rename the “Royale†visual
style in that folder to “Lunaâ€

-Open the visual style you renamed to Luna and click OK to the dialog box
that pops up…

Now, run any Office 2003 app and watch what happens… you’re favorite Office
2003 blue theme will be enabled. Walla! All because you renamed a single
file… and you still get to keep the Energy Blue theme!

SO WHAT IS THE GOAL AND HOW CAN WE GET THIS PROBLEM CORRECTED?

The goal is simple… when using a Media Center 2005 PC with the Energy
Blue/Royale theme loaded, Office 2003 needs to use the standard blue custom
toolbars and menus, just like when you use the Luna theme in XP

So how can this be accomplished? There is only one answer… YOU! Tell
Microsoft you want this fixed in Office 2K3 Service Pack 2, and vote for the
post so it can get enough votes for Microsoft to respond to it and hopefully
fix this issue. It’s all up to you... let them hear your voice!

Thanks for this - I've had the same problem; Microsoft should fix this
problem in an update.
