please fix these 'bugs' or 'features'

Office has a few bugs... please fix them so it works better PLEASE!

when you're using a bullet and you hit backspace to get back to no indent,
it should switch the style back to "Normal" style. (Office 2003 and before
did this)

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE FIX THIS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Also, when you want to save a style with indenting, it doesn't always save
the formatting ... maybe because another doc is open, but it should save ALL
the formatting (BIG PAIN)... then for some reason it will revert back even if
you save the new styles into Normal.dotm

I should be able to take the Normal.dotm into another computer and have the
styles be EXACTLY the same as on the other computer. It would be nice if the
quickstyles were autoupdated from Normal.dotm (as a feature?)

The styles management is a big mess. If you click on the small box that
brings up the large list of styles down the side, there are 3 boxes at the
bottom and an "options" hyperlink type of button and there are several ways
that seem to get the same results, but sometimes they don't work to keep the
styles changed (as above)... make it more streamlined. I think about the
good old days of Ami Pro and I wish Word was half as good at style
management. Come on guys. Smarten up. From a usability standpoint, the new
menu system is great, but the styles management is still not even "good".
You need to consolidate and streamline the functionality so more is in one
place and make sure it actually works.

Also...
when I open an office doc and I already have several that are open but
minimized because I'm doing something and I need many open... ALL of them pop
up! This is very annoying because I'm trying to work and use the internet
and have excel open etc., but they all pop up even when I just asked ONE to
open?!

They should make word work like excel with multiple docs able to be in the
same window OR BETTER, make each one work independently without all coming
into focus.

Also,
Please make the old style window pane style an option because it's VERY hard
to tell which window has the focus when they all are grey!! VERY BAD IDEA.
When I switch to blue or black, I can't see some of the quick access icons so
grey seems like the only one that works so I can still see them. VERY
ANNOYING.

user testing should have caught these issues.

Please please please fix these issues.

Word still does this (you may have to press BackSpace more than once
though), assuming that you select the "Set first and left indents with tabs
and backspaces" option on the AutoFormat As You Type tab of the AutoCorrect
dialog box. To open the dialog box, click the Office button, and then click
Word Options. In the Proofing category, click AutoCorrect Options.

But note that you can quickly apply the Normal style to text by pressing
Ctrl+Shift+N.

If these are numbered styles, you must set the indentation from within the
numbering options, not in the Paragraph dialog box. You can right-click a
numbered paragraph and choose Adjust List Indents from the context menu.
When you are done, click OK. Then right-click again and choose Styles |

Assuming that the other computer supports the same fonts, I don't see why

Note that display settings for styles are stored in the current document, or
in its attached template if you choose the "New documents based on this
template" option.

If settings won't save (this applies to all settings saved in templates, of
course), you could try opening the template as a document (via the Open
dialog box) and making the desored changes directly.

As an additional note on this one, the modified behavior when pressing
Backspace in a bulleted/numbered list is a deliberate change. This enables
users to easily add additional text below the bullet/numbered item and
maintain the alignment. If you're working in a multilevel list then the
first press of the Backspace will align the insertion point to the text of
the bullet/number, the second press will align the insertion point to the
bullet/number (and change to the Normal style) and the third will return the
insertion point to the left margin.

Regarding the minimized Word documents issue, I don't encounter this when
using Window 7 so perhaps this is an OS issue and not related to Word.

If this is referring to the Popup picto when hovering the mouse over a
minimised taskbar button, it still happens for me in Win7 but not just for
Word. And it doesn't seem to matter what taskbar 'Combine' option is chosen.
If I have several Word documents minimised and hover over one of the
minimised buttons, I get popups for all three documents. Same happens for
other non-Office apps too. I appreciate that all documents popup when either
I have chosen to combine the buttons or the buttons have combined because
the Taskbar is full, but it seems strange that they all popup when they are
separate buttons. So it is 'an OS thing' but unfortunately, I didn't notice
this during beta testing.
