Please Help: A Word Document Keeps Duplicating Itself On My Desktop

Please help. I created a word document and saved it on my desktop. Now,
it keeps making copies of itself. Lots of them until the screen is
filled.

Here's an example:

Copy (4) of Copy of Copy of ~WRL1685.tmp, Copy (5) of Copy of Copy of
~WRL1685.tmp, Copy (6) of Copy of Copy of ~WRL1685.tmp, Copy (7) of
Copy of Copy of ~WRL1685.tmp

And on and on.

Can someone help please.

Close the Word Document, then delete the temp files if they don't delete
themselves.
