Please Help!! Can't go to specific record.

I have a 14 MB database that has 25-30 users entering
multiple records at a time. The database started locking
up with an error msg "Can't go to specific record"
or "Currently locked. Couldn't update".

Is there something I can do to keep the database from
locking up?

Any help is appreciated!
