Please help me - publishing question

P

Paula

My web site is www.ehframingdesinging.com. At the top of the homepage I have
some links of some pages (home/feedback/contents/search). The page search is
missing, although I have the 4 pages in my computer (frontpage) remote and
local website. I've already published many times and there is no error. How
could I solve this problem. Thanks

The URL is a typo, Steve. www.ehframingdesigning.com and it redirects to
another URL.

You say that you have home/feedback/contents/search, but when you look in
code view you'll see there is no button nor link for the search component.

As an aside, those buttons are fairly difficult to read (black text on dark
slate background).

P

Paula

Yes that's correct, it is missing the "search" component, which was there one
week ago. After some updates I did at the web site, when I published the
"search" component did not come up. How can I fix? In my computer (my front
page) the web site looks perfect, correct, the "search" component is there.

I've tried to change the color from black to white by right clicking and
choosing properties, but none of the options were available to change the
color of the font. How can I change the color from black to white?

thanks Paula

D

Dan L

Those buttons are graphics (gifs). You will have to change the text color in
a graphics editor. As for the missing search button, look in code view for
this:

<p><font face="Arial" color="#FFFFFF">
<a href="./"><img src="_derived/home_cmp_bars000_gbtn.gif" width="95"
height="20" border="0" alt="Home" align="middle"></a> <a
href="Contents.htm"><img src="_derived/Contents.htm_cmp_bars000_gbtn.gif"
width="95" height="20" border="0" alt="Contents" align="middle"></a> <a
href="feedback.htm"><img src="_derived/feedback.htm_cmp_bars000_gbtn.gif"
width="95" height="20" border="0" alt="Feedback" align="middle"></a></font>

As you can see, there is no link or button for "Search", only Home, Contents
and Feedback. I can only suggest you republish from your computer if you
see the link and button for "search" on the page on your computer.

P

Paula

I've republished many many times from my computer and it doesn't work. I have
in my computer (my front page) the complete and correct web site with the
page and component "search". But when I publish everything else is published
expect "search". Why? What else I can do?
thanks, Paula

The only reason I insisted in replying the e-mail is because I have had this
problem on my web site since October 17th when I wrote the e-mail with the
subject "Publishing question". Nobody helped me solving this problem, until
now this e-mail has not had any reply. I had to repost the same question on
October 23rd with the same subject "Please help me - publishing question" to
have someone get back to me. My concern is if you guys can not help me who
works there, who can?

I am sorry about the inconvenience, but I feel very frustrated for not being
able to solve it.

If it helps I would like to add something that is happening in my website.
Every time I exit the front page and after I open it, when I go to publish
folder and I can see the "local web site" on the left side of the screen and
the "remote web site" on the right side, there are some folders of the "local
web site" that are under the status of "unmatched", including the "search"
folder. When I right click on each one of them and I choose the option
"publish selected file" it does publish correctly, including the "search"
component. I do not understand why it is happening with the web site. Any
idea?
thanks again,
Paula

You sure take a lot for granted about people who don't get paid for their
assistance.

I hope you get your issue resolved. And, I certainly hope you act more
professional in your dealings.

Paula,
Many of the people that give free advice here are professionals and experts
in this field

Thank you for your clarification. I thought I was posting my messages to
Microsoft Support. I will be happy to open a paid support incident with
Microsoft to help me answer the questions I had and I hope to deal with
professional people.

Sincerely,

#1) This is not Microsoft Support, it is a peer-to-peer newsgroup.
Questions asked here are answered here, not by private email.

#2) We do not *work* here. Everyone who answers questions is a
volunteer,
and answers are free.

#3) If people do not have an answer, they do not reply. If they have an
answer, they'll reply when it is convenient.

If you aren't able to get the answer you are seeking in this newsgroup,
you
may wish to open a paid support incident with Microsoft.

: The only reason I insisted in replying the e-mail is because I have had
this
: problem on my web site since October 17th when I wrote the e-mail with
the
: subject "Publishing question". Nobody helped me solving this problem,
until
: now this e-mail has not had any reply. I had to repost the same
question
on
: October 23rd with the same subject "Please help me - publishing
question"
to
: have someone get back to me. My concern is if you guys can not help me
who
: works there, who can?
:
: I am sorry about the inconvenience, but I feel very frustrated for not
being
: able to solve it.
:
: If it helps I would like to add something that is happening in my
website.
: Every time I exit the front page and after I open it, when I go to
publish
: folder and I can see the "local web site" on the left side of the
screen
and
: the "remote web site" on the right side, there are some folders of the
"local
: web site" that are under the status of "unmatched", including the
"search"
: folder. When I right click on each one of them and I choose the option
: "publish selected file" it does publish correctly, including the
"search"
: component. I do not understand why it is happening with the web site.
Any
: idea?
: thanks again,
: Paula
