please help me sending email

I am using a modem Dialup with WIN XP. I can sucessfully send/receive on Outlook Express and I can receive but I cannot send email using Outlook 97. I already checked smtp and port with my IPS. Can anyone please tell what the Outlook 97 message means? Any suggestion to solve the problem?
