Please help.... My "Word" will not open! Why not?

Hi, Any advise is greatly appreciated. I'm kind of in a panic right now. A few weeks ago I finally bought Microsoft Office 2008. After installation, everything seemed okay. I've been using all of the applications and having no problems. All of a sudden today, however, I can't open Word. The message that appears is, "you cannot open the application "microsoft word" because it may be damaged or incomplete". This doesn't make sense. It was working perfectly fine yesterday and all of the other applications are still working. I get the same message if I try to open a document saved on my computer or a template from the project gallery. Please help! I haven't even been on my computer since yesterday when I was using word. It's so strange and I really need it to work! Thanks in advance.

Have you been deleting files? That's the usual cause of that.

Word cannot find (some of) the files it needs to run.

First try shutting down, turning the power off, then re-starting. On a Unix
system, that triggers a series of system housekeeping tasks that may cure
the problem.

If it doesn't, you will need to run the remove office program then
re-install. Just put your CD in the hole and it will prompt you through.
