Beta. I believe it was on of the security patches for Win-----Original Message-----
Hi I am running win xp, and have been using office beta 2
for quite some time. I didn't have any difficulties when
using just outlook beta 2. I just installed the technical
refresh and now when I open Outlook it hangs (like it's
trying to open the preview pane), but isn't able to. Then
I get an error message saying:
Iris Catastropic Failure
Could not initialize CLR
File or assmebly name Iris.Mapi.MessageStore, or one of
its dependencies, was not found.
I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling but continue
to get the same error message. The rest of Office works
without any problems.
Does anyone have any ideas or thoughts?
.
I had a similar problem with Outlook 200 and the new
XP or one of the Hot Fixes. I ended up removing them all
and it is now fine. I also remember reading in one of the
rags (EWeek or InfoWorld or PC Mag or one of thoses)
about a patch for Win XP that caused trouble with
broadband connections. I could not find the article again
so I just removed them all to try it out and the problem
went away.
Good luck.
