Hi. I have designed a site that has a general form on it, and i need to get
the results of the form emailed to me. when I fill out the form online,
then click "submit" I get a 404 error message. I used a book called
"Frontpage 2000 simplified" and followed the directions....I think I did it
all right.
Anyway, I have a cgi bin, but don't know what to do with it. My server has
frontpage extensions, but I do not publish with frontpage...for some reason
this does not work with my webserver, I have called them about this, so I
just use cuteftp.
so, how can I get the results of this form to email to me? Do I have to
know scripting?, or if not, how is this done, or does anyone know how? I
would love to learn. Thank You.

If the server has the FP extensions, then you must use File Menu | Publish
Web and enter http://www.yourdomainname.com , then enter your login info,
click Ok.

However since you have used FTP to upload, you have corrupted the
extensions, and your host will need to re-install them.

In order for any of the FP run-time component to work, such as forms, you
must use FP to publish to the remote server via http.

The cgi-bin is not need unless you plan to use CGI-Perl scripts.
