Today, when I went to open Word (Office XP Professional - 2002 Version), it
would not open. I got an error stating that the program had "detected a
significant change in your machine configuration" and that I needed to
"reactivate".
Yesterday I had a new video card installed on my computer, which required
activating a PCI slot in my computer's BIOS. That's the only major change
that has occurred. (My Excel program works fine.)
When I put the Office disk in, I get a message that the Windows Installer is
"on a network resource that is not available". I did a search for the file
suggested on the error message, "MAINSP3op.msp" and found nothing.
I really need to get my Word working again and am at a loss as to how to
proceed. Please help - I would really appreciate it! Thank you.
