I'm in a desperate and urgent situation, I need to know how to insert a
dotted line below a straight line in my (word 2003) document.
I've tried all ways and just cannot fit it in without it messing up my whole
document.
I need to know asap!
Thanx so much

It's a bit fiddly because there is no standard border or line with that
layout, however in a new document draw the straight line to the length you
want using the line drawing tool on the drawing toolbar. With the line
selected CTRL+C then CTRL+V. This will duplicate the line. Format each of
the lines - one as a plain line, the other as a dotted line. Move the lines
as close as you require them using the white arrow selector from the drawing
toolbar then when you are happy with the placement, group them. Copy and
paste to your other document (or if you need more such lines, save them as
an autotext or formatted autocorrect entry).
