No matter what I try from Word's help system (and I'm using WOrd 2002
SP3), I can't get it to stop autoformatting. So I've spent well over
an hour trying to format my document. THe table needs to be
single-spaced, but if I make a single table cell single-spaced, the text
of the whole document, including in text boxes in autoshapes, switches
to single-spaced. If I highlight the wording then in a single
paragraph, the whole document, including the autoshapes text, which
should be single-spaced, becomes double-spaced. I hate this. I wish I
was not required to use Word. If I was using the original version of
Wordstar, which I did use long ago, I'd be done by now instead of having
to try over and over to stop or override autoformatting. I went to
Tools-AutoCorrect-Autoformatting as You Type and did not see a way to
simply stop autoformatting forever and ever. I never ever want
autoformatting but I can't make it stop. How do I kill this feature
forever please? It's the same with autocorrect. I don't ever want Word
to fix typos with its own guesses about what I wanted. I want the
errors to remain but try s I might, it won't stop doing that. Thanks.
