I have spent over an hour this morning trying to find a page somewhere
withing microsoft.com for submitting a bug report. Finally, it was quite
simple: 1-800-MICROSOFT on this web page:
support.microsoft.com/gp/contactbug. Of course, that is not a 24/7 number
for this purpose, and I have a feeling that I will need to give credit card
information before I can even submit the bug. I remember years ago when it
was quite easy to find. Does Microsoft no longer want to receive bug
reports? With the way things are, it seems to me that Microsoft would rather
charge me for a support case and tell me to upgrade or give me some obscure
knowledge base article as a fix instead of doing something about the bugs.
Error reporting is one way that Microsoft can receive them automatically, but
when screwey things happen such as my Access database deleting itself during
a compact procedure, there is no error report and as of right now, no way for
me to report it.
If I am wrong about Microsoft not providing a way to report bugs, then
perhaps Microsoft should put a link to it directly on support.microsoft.com.
