I have recorded a macro and assigned it to a custom toolbar with some icon. I
assigned that to a custom toolbar while recording and saved the file as
another template, dot file, but not attached to normal.dot. It is working
fine. Now, I want to send this to my team here so that they can use it. I
tried sending the this template to another system, but couldn't see this tool
appearing on that system. I opened the macros and found that macro is saved
but toolbar is not appearing.
Can anyone tell the procedure to display the custom toolbar when deploying
the tool to another system?
In short, I want the created macro to appear as a toolbar in all the systems
so that they can click.

Please help asap. Your help is really appreciable.

Many Many Thanks in advance.

The template would need to be saved in the Word Startup Folder if you want
the toolbar to always appear. Otherwise it will only appear when you create
a document from the template.

Hi

This is not working. I sent the file to another systema and copied in
Startup folder. But still the tool is not getting displayed.

Any other ideas please??

Have you restarted Word after putting the template in the Startup folder? If
so have you checked to see if the template loaded? (Tools > Templates and
Add-ins...). What about macro security?

These would be the first things I'd check as normally there's no code
required to get a toolbar to display; just putting the template in the
Startup folder (so it loads when Word starts) and allowing the macros to run
is usually sufficient.

Yes. I did checked all. I closed the Word. Copyied the template to startup
folder, added through templates-> addins and also checked the security
settings. Macro is appearing but the toolbar is not getting displayed.
Getting Crazy!!! I don't know what I missed. I need it to send to the team
very soon but is getting late.

Is the custom toolbar actually saved in the template in question?

Yes. It is saved in the template only. It is working in my system. But when I
sent that to my team here, the tool is not appearing. I want that tool to
work likewise in my system.

If you open the template on another PC, is the toolbar listed amongst the
available toolbars bit unchecked or is it missing altogether?
