Please wait while configures office xp profeesional

When I try to start ACCESS in Office XP I get a window with the following
message: "Please wait while configures office xp profeesional" and then a
message: "gathering required information"

The window then goes away and nothing happens.

This happens if I try to open a file or just start Access XP.

It was working about a month ago.

I have tried doing a System restore but it still does not work.


I have also uninstalled and re-installed Office XP.

All other Office XP Programs work OK.

Found the fix on Microsoft Support

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/265194

The basic fix is to search for any copy of "Msaccess.exe" and rename it to
"OLD MSaccess.exe"
Then Search for Sany copy of "System.mdw" and also rename it to
"OLDSystem.mdw"


After doing this, reinstall MSAccess.

This took care of it.
