Pls help-I keep getting an error message when I open Word

Hi, when I open Word I get the error msg: "The macros in this project are
disabled. Please refer to the online help or documentation of the host
application to determine how to enable macros" This message is in a box that
is titled "Microsoft Visual Basic". I have to click on the OK button of this
error message twice to get it to go away & allow me to use word.

If you check Tools > Macro > Security, on the Security Level tab you should
see that the security setting is High. Change this to Medium. Also, if you
know that the macros in the start up template (probably Normal.dot) can be
trusted, on the Trusted Publisher tab check Trust all installed add-ins and
templates. (If you do not do this, each time you open Word you will be asked
to enable macros.)

This message box is telling you what to do. It tells you, "Please refer to
the online help or documentation of the host application to determine how to
enable macros." The "host application" in this case is Word. If you type
"enable macros" into Word's Answer Wizard, you'll get (I admit) a
bewildering plethora of Help topics, but the one you want is "About helping
protect files from macro viruses." The bottom line is that you need to set
your macro security to Medium. This will allow you to choose whether you
want to enable macros or not. Also, by checking the box for "Trust all
installed templates and add-ins" on the Trusted Sources tab of Tools | Macro
| Security, you will enable most of the macros you are likely to encounter.
Unfortunately, Word's trust does not extend to the Office Startup folder, so
you will still get a message about add-ins there, but you can usually choose
to add the publisher to your Trusted Sources.
