I have no idea what happened, but for some reason, Outlook Express has
totally freaked out on me. I have run all of the updates from Microsoft,
removed unnecessary programs from my computer, compacted files, defragged,
run security updates, run network diagnostics, and even broke down & hired a
computer tech that had no clue how to fix it! The problem started around the
time that I downloaded a bunch of different updates on my computer, but I'm
not entirely sure that wasn't a complete coincidence. I also downloaded all
of the same updates on my laptop and have had no problems. When I try to open
Outlook Express, I get two separate error messages back-to-back, and it
refuses to open. The first pop-up box says that Outlook Express cannot be
started because my disc may be full (which it definitely is not). Then, as
soon as I close that box, another box pops up that says Outlook Express could
not be started because MSOE.DLL could not be initialized and that OE may be
installed incorrectly. (Considering I have been using it for years and it has
never been uninstalled, I have no clue how it could suddenly not be installed
properly?!). Does anyone have any advice that might help? I am desperate! I
can check my email from my laptop, but all of my separated email files are
saved on my main computer, so I can't access any of that information. And my
computer also won't allow me to access the emails to copy them to another
file, so they are just STUCK in there with no way to retrieve them! And here
is one final piece of the puzzle.... I have successfully downloaded all of
the updates onto my computer from Microsoft, except for one that fails to
load every time I try.... the update for Windows XP. So, naturally, I suspect
that has something to do with my Outlook Express problem, but I'm not sure
how to remedy either issue. PLEASE help if you can!!! Thanks so much!
