Hi there,
I want to be able to use some software to synchronize
a MS Access database between a pc and several Pocket
PC PDA's. Each PDA will have a replica of the database on it.
I have wrote a front end for the database on the pc
and on the PDA's ( each PDA is running windows mobile
2003)
What I need is sync software that will sync all the
changes on either device (the pc and the pocket PC),
so everything including additions, updates and deletes
are synchronized between the two databases in
question.
I need to be able to set what tables sync in what
order so there are no referential issues.
Also having one global conduit, or a group conduit
would be a distinct advantage.
The order of which tables synchronize first etc cannot
be altered with MS Active sync, which I have been using
so far. This is where I have had a problem and we have
decided to look for a third party synchronization solution.
I can write code to get around the problems Active Sync has, handling
replication errors etc. But since this databases has 18 tables, and
access is the only db available to me. (I work in a hospital, mysql,
oracle, sql server and others are out) To write this code, seems like
to much work to get round something that I feel ms should have
included with active sync, the ability to set the order which tables
sync.
Plus each PDA has to have its own conduit, and active sync is very
flakey regarding conduit's and syncing at times.
So my question is this, do and of you guys know of any synchronization
software that meets these requirements?
Thank you for taking the time to read this post
