Point of Sales

Hi,

I have created a Point of Sales software (MS Access from end and, MSSQL
Express back end)

The app is divided on pos_client.mdb, pos_manager.mdb and of course the
database on mssql.

Now I need to send some data to a Monitor, so that the inventory employess
bring the just purchase
items to the from desk where the pos_client.mdb is

I now this in a way is a hardware issue but any pointers would be very much
appreciate.

Thid will require a modification to your application. It is not a hardware
issue at all, assuming there is a computer attached to your network in the
inventory area. It will need a copy of Access or the Access RunTime.

You need to add code that when an order is placed or when selected by the
POS user, it will add records to a "Picking Items" table. That would be a
record that would identify what quantity of which items need to be picked.
It also needs Date/Time ordered and Date/Time fulfulled.

Then the inventory computer needs a form that shows all the records from the
Picking Items table that have not been fulfilled. This form needs to have a
timer event so it will refresh the list periodically. It also needs to be
able to for the inventory people to enter that they have picked an item or an
order. It needs to be able to also edit info such as quantity in case the
actual on hand is not the same is in the system.

An extra nice, depending on the business operation would be to also have the
POS on a timer so when an item is marked as picked, the cashier would know it.
