Pointer behavior

I'm runnig Windows 98SE with MS Office XP. The mouse is a Logitech C48
(wired).

The pointer shifts off the screen in the vertical axix when I use the top
menu bar in MS Office programs ONLY such as Word, Excel or Front Page. The
pointer will remain offset by about half a screen height until I reboot.
This problem generally happen when accessing the multiple drop down menus.
For example, performing File, Save is fine but Insert, Picture, From File
snags the curser.

It does not happen with any other applications outside of MS Office so that
is why I've ruled out hardware problem.

Ideas anyone?

You may want to check on the Logitech site to
see if they have an updated mouse driver for your
model. That was a fairly common issue for that
combination.

Thanks Bob for quick response. I downloaded the latest a couple of days ago
with no change in pointer behavior. Any other ideas?
