Pointer does not work in Word 2007

Recently my pointer is unable to click on anything in a word document. I can
open a document but am unable to highlight, move the cursor, or do any
mouse-related manipulation of the document. Also every time I close Word it
crashes. Please advise

You can try removing them one at a time (either rename/move the file for
template-based add-ins, or uninstall through Add/Remove Programs for COM
add-ins) to see which one makes the problem stop; or you can remove them
all, and then add them back one at a time until you find the one that makes
the problem start again.
