POP setting rejected

Operating System: Mac OS X 10.4 (Tiger)
Processor: Intel
Email Client: pop

I'm using exactly the same settings as on Entourage 2004, Mail, and Thunderbird. But for some reason, the setup assistant keeps rejecting them. The following is the message I get when I try to verify. My guess is that once the POP problem is sorted out, I'll have the same trouble with the SMTP setting.

My email server is Godaddy.com, where my domain is hosted.

Any ideas?

Have you tried not checking requires secure connection?

Normally, we don't see a database issue causing Entourage not to connect.
You can test this by creating a new Identity in Entourage and setup the
account there. If it works, then it is a problem with your database.
