Pop up error message in Word 2003

I have been experiencing this problem the past couple of days. I keep
getting a pop up window that says "Microsoft Office Word has encountered a
problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience". This is
happening whether I have Word open or not. It is happening every 3-5
minutes. I have also noticed that if I am putting together an email through
Outlook, when this pop-up occurs it cancels the email as well. Any
suggestions?

Word will be open if Outlook is open and you use Word as e-mail editor.
There appears to be a problem related to the use of Word as editor. A simple
solution would be to use Outlook's own editor, but if you want to pursue the
