Pop Up in MSP

Hello,

I am using 2003. I have baselined a project and tracking. When the project
was opened in MSP, it suddenly started displaying the messages that a task
couldnot be completed. It displayed the Pop up with options to change
durations of some tasks, but to change when I entered on the pop up it didnt
close. Irrespctive of any option chosen it was continuously displaying the
pop up. Ultimately I killed through the Task Manager. Once again I opened it
behaved the same way.

What does it mean? nothing of such type happened previously whenevr any
updation was done. I could just understand there was a scheduling conflict,
but since couldnt open the project in MSP due to continuos pop up I couldnt
really make out.

Can anyone help me in understanding as When does a project behave this way?
