Pop up window

I would like a cell to be checked for a 2 letter code if a number is entered
to the right (next cell) of it, if the 2 letter code is not entered then a
window would pop up for a reminder.
How can I get a window to pop up with this message?
Is this possible?

You can use Data Validation. For instance if D9 contains the number and F9
contains the code, then you can use Data Validation in D9 like this

Allow: Custom
Formula: =AND(LEN(E9)=2,NOT(ISNUMBER(E9)))

then go to the Error Alert tab and type in whatever message you want.
