Pop Up windows going below screen

Ed

Hi

I'm getting popup windows and other things opening below
the screen -- under the task bar where I can't see them
and close them. I can right, click on the taskbar to close
them, but how do I get windows to open in the normal
screen viewing area?

Thanks

Ed:

A.) What application is this happening with? More info there could help
with the specific app.

b.) If you are working on a laptop, or some other PC which has "panning"
support built into the video driver options, turn off panning support (this
allows you to scroll the screen with a higher resolution when the video
panel only supports the number of pixels for a smaller screen resolution.)

Hi Ed,

The problem is caused by one of two issues:

If you are using Norton then try disabling the "Office Plug-in" option
since it is known to cause dialog boxes to appear behind the
application window.
In Norton go to "Options" and then select "Miscellaneous" and disable
the Office Plug-in option.

If you are starting Word 2002 and are using the Quick Launch bar then
this is a known bug and it has been corrected in the Office XP SP2
patch. Here is an article that contains information on obtaining the
latest Office XP updates:
