Hi
I got a new laptop and then upgraded the MS office suite from 2000 to
2003.
I set up a POP account from my email provider. Then using the Test
Account settings button in Tools->Options->View email account, I was
able to send an email successfully.
However, I am unable to download any email. Any message that is sent
gets stuck in the outbox.
I have looked at network connectivity (fine) - mcafee anti virus /
spamkiller( fine - have disabled it).
When I do send / receive - a dialog box flashes for an instant and goes
away. It shows that outlook has connected to the POP and SMTP server
sucessfully. But it NEVER reads or sends any email. I have also checked
all the folders in case outlook delivers it to a different folder.
I did exactly the same upgrade on another identical laptop and outlook
never had a problem.
Please suggest how to troubleshoot. The only way out that I can see is
to remove and reinstall.
