Outlook is not able to receive email, Gets error †! Task ‘<user email
address> – Receiving’ reported error (0x80044210A): ‘The operation timed out
waiting for a response from the receiving (POP) server. If you continue to
receive this message, contact your server administrator or Internet Service
Provider (ISP).’"
Checked with ISP and nothing being blocked and user able to check email via
Blackberry and all other users receiving mail. Disabled Trend Micro Internet
Security Pro and rebooted PC, issue remains. Pings of the POP3 mail server
(no exchange) from the client machine time out because server set to not
respond to ICMP echo according to ISP.
Created new default Outlook 2007 PST (inbox file) and migrated 780megs worth
of mail to it from the migrated PST called “Personal Folder†to the default
location and all other PST’s to a sub-folder of “My Documentsâ€. After all
contents moved deleted original “Personal Folder†PST file; Outcome-No change.
This occurs from user’s residence and business with no change at either end.
Getting to the end of my rope, some string would be gratefully appreciated.
Sorry so lengthy as brevity was not possible
