POP3 Mail Won't Send after SP2 Install

I installed SP2 and had to uninstall it because it
wouldn't allow me to play online games. Now, Outlook
2000 for XP will not send my POP3 mail from Yahoo. It
receives just fine, but it won't send. I get the
following error:

The TCP/IP connection was unexpectedly terminated by
server. Error Number 0x800ccc0f

I have checked and double checked the settings in
Outlook. I have reinstalled Outlook. I have turned
off Norton. I have removed and reinstalled the Yahoo
account in Outlook and nothing works.

I have seen posts for this problem all over the
Internet, but no solutions. Any ideas?
