I have discovered that one of my customers is polling (POP3) the mail server
much more frequently that configured in her Outlook client.
Her mail settings are configured to automatically check for mail every 1
minute. However at certain times, it appears to check for mail every 20-30
seconds. Then it will resume polling at it's regular 1 minute intervals.
I made sure that she only has one instance of Outlook running, and that she
is not manually sending/receiving.
I had her technician run a virus scan and make sure that her definitions
where current.
They also ran a spyware scan.
I believe she is using Outlook 2000.
The mail server she is connecting to is on a remote Linux box.
Has anyone ever seen Outlook poll more often than it is set to?
thank you,
Tim
