Populate fields based on data entry in another field

Hi All,

I would like to have a field on the data entry user's form, to enter an
employee badge number. Based on selected badge number the persons name, crew
code and perhaps supervisor name are all displayed in separate fields on the
form.

I am having trouble finding help to read about doing this...because I can
not figure out what it would be called...if it can be done.

Any help will be greatly appreciated!

My suggestion would be to look at the Northwind sample database. Look at
how it handles information when you select a "bill to" in the "Orders" form.
It fills in some data as you state.

Post back if that does not help you or if you need more specifics.

Thanks...I did look at some of the sample forms, however I did not see an
orders form. Are there some key words I can search help or read about that
would help me learn how to do this task?

I am a non American and no expert and I may have misunderstood it. As i
understand you should use the combo box tool in your form where you have all
the fields you want. When you, after having clicked the combo box icon, go
into the form you will have three choises. Of these, use the third one and
continue. I use this for looking up records from their numbers. /Ove
